"Two years ago, I came to the realization that I was unhappy. I needed something that was 100% for me and something that was a healthy outlet while my husband was deployed vs. “taking the edge off” by drinking. That’s when I started training for my first competition with Shawn and Jake.
I’d be lying if I said it was an easy process, but the reward was definitely worth the low points, sore muscles, and dieting. There are days that I can see myself doing another competition, and then there are days that I just want to eat a cookie with a glass of wine and not figure out HOW it’s gonna fit into my macros. What I do know for certain is that two years ago, for the first time in a long time I got myself back in the gym. It took me 6 years after burning out, mentally and physically, from years of competitive swimming and training for triathlons to truly commit to a regular gym routine again. Finding the best coaches made it possible.
No matter your age, your fitness goals/aspirations, or how long it’s been since you stepped foot in a gym...BodyFit is the right fit. Here’s my 3 reasons why:
1) You’re not just a number (a little cliche I know, but applicable). Group sessions are capped at 12 members in a session, or there are personal training sessions where it’s 1:1. That being said, you don’t have to throw elbows for a workout space! Shocking, I know, seeing as this has become somewhat of a norm. You become a member of a community that leads by example, and inspires you to put everything you’ve got into the workout and work towards achieving your goal(s).
2) The coaches care. They structure each monthly program intentionally to build off of the previous month, ultimately maximizing your performance long-term. They pay attention to everyone in the class (sometimes too much...you really can’t get away with sandbagging) and give you corrective feedback on your technique. Though it’s encouraged to try the original exercise, they have a modification when needed. They keep track of your progress, frequently ask how things are going, and offer any guidance possible.
3) Accountability. Warning - you may start to hold yourself accountable due to the close-knit group of inspirational people you start to see every week. You will also notice that every day that you come in you will see the goal you wrote from day one of the program on a massive chalkboard wall...meaning every time you show up, you are reminded why you are there and what you are working to achieve. I know, it’s genius!
So that's my story and I'm sticking to it! If these reasons weren't enough to convince you to try at least one workout, take some pre-workout and let’s meet in person to chat about why BodyFit is the right fit."
